Project Rescue

Replace the vendor. Ship the release. In 30 days.

Your build is stalled. The current team missed the date (again). The release your business needs is slipping. We take over — without trashing the prior team — stabilize the work, and ship.

Triage call within 24 hours → 1-week takeover plan → shipped release in 30 days.

Built for heads of product, engineering, and ops running a stalled build, a vendor handoff, or a release slipping.

20+ years engineering leadership · 100+ products shipped · rescued across 30+ stacks

Signs you need a rescue.

Missed dates, no ETA

Sprint after sprint, the same story. No one on the team can tell you what shipping actually looks like.

Quality is collapsing

QA finds regressions. Bugs reopen. The team is firefighting instead of building.

Vendor lock-in

You want to leave, but the knowledge, credentials, and code are trapped in one head or one team.

No clear what-next

Is it scope? Is it talent? Is it the stack? Nobody has walked the code and told you the truth.

What a 30-day rescue looks like

Triage, stabilize, ship. Then you choose — keep us, or hand back to your team.

  • Diagnostic review of code, architecture, and process (week 1)
  • Takeover plan: what to keep, what to fix, what to rewrite
  • Credential and knowledge transfer from the prior vendor
  • Pod of senior engineers on your stack (not junior ramp-up)
  • Shipped release by day 30, plus a stabilization backlog
  • All code, docs, and deployment access handed to you

Scope before we sell you anything.

Free first steps before you commit.

01 Free

Triage call

Within 24 hours of your request, a CTO is on a call with you walking through the current state, the stack, and the blocker.

A clear read on whether rescue is the right move.

02 Free

Diagnostic week

One-week code and process review. We read the repo, talk to the team, and deliver a rescue plan with scope, timeline, and fixed price.

A plan with honest findings, not blame.

03 Paid

Rescue

Pod of senior engineers takes over. Daily demos, weekly updates to your leadership. Shipped release in 30 days.

A release shipped and a codebase you can own.

G-Sight — computer-vision dry-fire training app

The problem

App was launched with a 2.0 App Store rating, crashes across devices, and poor retention. Leadership was considering shutting the product down.

The outcome

Full rescue: reworked the computer-vision pipeline, rebuilt the onboarding, fixed stability, and added gamification. App rating climbed from 2.0 to 4.7 and revenue crossed $500K+ annually.

Common questions

What does a rescue cost?

Triage call and diagnostic week are both free. Rescue engagements run $120–350k for a 30–60 day recovery, fixed scope. Priced after diagnostic — not before.

Will you trash-talk the current vendor?

No. The diagnostic focuses on what needs to happen next, not who failed. We've found that rescue is rarely about one bad actor — it's usually structural.

Can we keep the current team during rescue?

Often yes. We work alongside, not in opposition. Many rescues leave internal engineers in place and replace only the failing vendor or contractor.

What stacks do you rescue?

React, Node, Rails, .NET, Python/Django, Go, mobile iOS/Android, React Native, and most enterprise data stacks. If we have not seen it, we say so before taking it on.

How fast can you start?

Diagnostic call within 24 hours of request. Diagnostic week kick-off within 5 business days. Rescue pod onsite/remote within 10 business days of plan sign-off.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. Mutual NDA before the diagnostic call. We regularly work under enterprise NDAs and MSAs.

Is this the right fit?

Good fit

  • A release is slipping past its committed date
  • A vendor is delivering poorly, slowly, or not at all
  • Leadership can't get a trusted ETA
  • Budget exists for a fixed-scope rescue ($120k+)

Not a fit

  • Seeking free technical audit, no intent to engage
  • Unwilling to share repo access during diagnostic
  • Budget below ~$80k for the rescue itself
  • Looking for a long-term staff-aug contract (ask about Lightning Pods instead)
