Job Overview
We are seeking a AI Agent Engineer to spearhead the design and buildout of our next-generation agentic AI systems. In this role, you’ll take ownership of architecting, developing, and deploying autonomous AI agents that orchestrate complex workflows across the product development lifecycle. We need a technical leader who can make critical architectural decisions about agent frameworks, orchestration patterns, observability infrastructure, and production deployment strategies. You’ll drive decisions on technologies like OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, and modern orchestration frameworks while establishing best practices for AI-enabled development across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of our multi-agent orchestration platform, making critical decisions about agent frameworks, communication patterns, orchestration strategies, and deployment infrastructure.
- Architect and develop production-grade agentic AI systems with sophisticated orchestration patterns (sequential, concurrent, hierarchical), resilience mechanisms, observability infrastructure, and safety guardrails.
- Evaluate and select the right agent frameworks (LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI) and orchestration patterns for each use case, establishing technical standards and best practices for the organization.
- Take end-to-end ownership of agent system development, from initial architecture through production deployment, performance optimization, and ongoing evolution.
- Design and build comprehensive monitoring, logging, and evaluation systems to measure agent performance, reliability, cost efficiency, and user satisfaction across production deployments.
- Fine-tune prompts, implement sophisticated RAG systems, design memory architectures, and optimize multi-agent collaboration patterns for reliability, cost, and latency.
Who You Are
- You’re energized by leading technical initiatives and making architectural decisions that shape how systems are built, not just implementing features from a spec.
- You embrace AI tools as force multipliers for your own work—you’re excited about using Claude Code and Cursor to build faster, not threatened by AI augmenting your workflow.
- You think in systems and patterns, naturally seeing how components should interact, where abstractions belong, and how to design for both current needs and future evolution.
- You’re pragmatic about production—you’d rather ship a reliable system with 95% of features than a demo with 100% that breaks under real-world conditions.
- You stay curious and adapt quickly in a rapidly evolving field—when a new framework or model capability emerges, you’re eager to evaluate it and integrate what works.
- You communicate technical complexity clearly, whether explaining agent architectures to clients or collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- You take ownership of outcomes, not just outputs—you care about whether the system delivers business value, not just whether the code runs.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership in architecting and shipping production systems
- Daily proficiency with AI development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) achieving measurable productivity improvements
- Production experience building multi-agent systems with LangGraph, AutoGen, or CrewAI
- Hands-on experience with multiple LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models) including prompt engineering and model selection
- Experience with RAG systems, vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant), and semantic search architectures
- Understanding of agent orchestration patterns: sequential workflows, concurrent execution, error handling, and state management
- API integration experience (REST, function calling) for connecting agents to external tools
Preferred Skills
- Track record of building custom AI development workflows, automation tools, or contributing to AI-assisted development practices
- Experience training or mentoring others on AI-powered development techniques
- Full-stack development for building agent UIs
- Cloud architecture expertise (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Thought leadership through technical writing, conference talks, or community education
Position Details
- Full-Time
- 100% Remote (US timezone preferred for client collaboration)
- Competitive salary based on experience ($160K - $220K)
