Job Overview
We’re seeking a Senior Engineering Manager who thrives in fast-moving environments and knows how to lead multiple teams while keeping quality high and shipping velocity fast. You’re a builder at heart — someone who’s comfortable making tough calls with imperfect information, standing up new teams, and owning outcomes end-to-end.
You’ll also champion AI-assisted development practices, leveraging advanced AI tools and fostering an AI-first culture within your teams. This is an opportunity to shape how our teams work and the results we deliver — while being at the forefront of the AI development revolution.
Responsibilities
Delivery & Execution
- Oversee multiple engineering teams, owning team health, performance, and delivery outcomes
- Own delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams — set priorities, remove blockers, and keep teams shipping on cadence
- Step in as a hands-on technical leader when needed — unblock architecture decisions, debug production issues, drive technical direction
- Keep process lightweight and outcome-focused — stand-ups, retros, and planning should serve the team, not the other way around
- Spot risks early, communicate them clearly, and course-correct before they become problems
AI-First Engineering Culture
- Drive adoption of AI development tools and workflows to accelerate how your teams build, test, and ship
- Define and evolve engineering standards and practices with an AI-first mindset
- Stay hands-on with emerging AI tooling and bring practical, high-impact applications back to your teams
Technical Strategy & Stakeholder Partnership
- Partner directly with product and business stakeholders to shape roadmaps, scope work, and align engineering effort to business outcomes
- Represent engineering in senior conversations — translate technical tradeoffs into business language and drive decisions
- Support estimation, technical planning, and architecture reviews for new initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and designers to keep teams aligned and moving in the same direction
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years in engineering management or technical leadership roles
- Experience leading multiple teams simultaneously across different product areas or workstreams
- Strong technical background in modern web and mobile development (React, React Native, Node.js, Python, AWS/GCP, or similar)
- Proven ability to operate with autonomy — you make fast decisions, prioritize ruthlessly, and keep teams unblocked
- Track record of hiring, building, and retaining high-performing engineering teams that ship quality products on cadence
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineers at various experience levels, from junior to senior contributors
- Excellent communication skills with experience representing engineering to product, business, and executive stakeholders
- Understanding of AI development tools and their practical application to accelerate engineering workflows
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and competing priorities in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in small-to-mid size companies where you wore many hats and owned outcomes beyond just engineering
- Background in mobile app development with iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) experience
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code
- Understanding of AI/ML product development, including RAG systems, LLMs, or agent orchestration
- Previous experience standing up new teams or engineering functions from scratch
- Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-native architectures

- Location: 100% Remote (US time zones preferred for client collaboration)
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary Range: $160,000 - $200,000
